Break-In Reported at Sunday’s General Store
The Ballardvale shop was broken into while the power was out.

Like 90 percent of the town over the weekend, Sunday’s General Store in Ballardvale didn’t have power and one thief used that to his or her advantage on Sunday when breaking into the small convenience shop.
According to Police Lt. James Hashem, one or more individuals smashed through the glass front door to gain entry into shop sometime on Sunday, Oct. 30. The general store had been out of power along with which worked out to more than 12,000 homes.
Hashem said that the only things taken were a small amount of money, alcohol and other miscellaneous items.

Owners discovered the break-in when they opened the store back up on Monday morning.

Police also reported a break-in at a residence on Harold Parker Road during the power outages. Hashem said only jewelry was stolen from the home.
