Celebrate Halloween In the Merrimack Valley

Looking for a place for a trick or a treat?

Whether you're in the mood for a trick or a treat, there are ways to celebrate Halloween throughout the Merrimack Valley from now until the 31st.

Westford

Witch's Woods - Witch's Woods Haunted Hayride and Halloween Screampark includes a haunted hayride and aims to be a fright filled adventure for ages 6 and up. General admission includes access to three haunted houses. Nightmare Mansion is the featured haunted house, with screams around every corner. Castle Morbid is a dark dungeon that will change the way you think about haunted houses. Anyone can get in, but getting out of Castle Morbid requires nerves of steel.

Halloween Dance Jam - Oct. 25, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Westford Farmers' Market. Vendors and patrons urged to dress up. There will be a scavenger hunt, dance party and conga line.

Tewksbury

- Children between the ages of 3 and 5 are invited to the Halloween preschool story time at the library. The half-hour session includes spooky Halloween stories, music and movement. No registration is required.

- Safe Halloween 2011 held by Tewksbury Police Department on Sunday, Oct. 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Livingston Street Park. In the event of rain, the event will take place at the Senior Center. This will be a great time for the children and will include fun activities such as: touch a truck (all kinds of trucks); K9 demonstrations; pumpkin/goodie bag giveaway to each child; face painting and crafts plus lots more.

Chelmsford

- The party is on Friday, Oct. 28, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Harrington School. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are invited too. Bring your own trick or treat bag. $2 per person and a bag of small novelty toys or a bag of candy per family at the door. (This is to cover the use of the cafeteria & custodians). Don’t forget to wear your costume. There will be a box for donations, such as snacks, baked goods, drinks and paper goods set up near the office, or if you prefer, donations can be dropped off on the stage in the cafeteria on Friday, the 28.

Andover

As Halloween approaches, Andover Historical Society will bring to you a frightful evening for adults: "Cocktails from the Crypt." On Friday, Oct. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m., join local historian, Jim Batchelder, for an evening with a special brew made in the light of the moon as he explores the history of West Parish Garden Cemetery. Admission is $10 for members, $15 for non-members.

North Andover

, Friday, Oct. 28, 12:30 pm, 120 Main St., North Andover, $2. The Halloween party has a limit of 100 seniors.

Smolak Farms - Hayrides, night hayrides, apple picking, pumpkin patches and fall festivals. This farm is one stop shopping for fall. Don't forget to try an apple cider donut in the farm stand.
