Newburyport Chamber of Commerce Announces The Port of Wonder

The Newburyport Chamber of Commerce has announced a month-long holiday celebration entitled The Port of Wonder, featuring a series of holiday events and activities throughout Newburyport from Sunday, November 30 through Thursday, December 25, 2025. Led by the Downtown Business Advisory Council of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this collaborative initiative brings together local businesses, community organizations, and residents to create a magical holiday experience that celebrates the best of Newburyport — from shopping and dining to family traditions and waterfront charm.

The festivities kick off on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with Santa’s arrival by Coast Guard boat and then his special parade through downtown Newburyport when at 5:00 p.m. he will light the Market Square Christmas Tree, adorned by Red Nose Decorators (Fanuel Hall Decorators). Festivities will also include a Menorah display, and the downtown streets’ 110 light posts being decorated with a myriad of sparkling lights and garland.

“We are pleased to present The Port of Wonder in Newburyport, a special celebration of the season sure to delight all,” said Nancy Caswell, President of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “The Port of Wonder brings the holidays to life for a full month of celebration featuring events for the whole family. We welcome visitors and residents alike to celebrate the magic of the holidays in charming Newburyport.”

The Port of Wonder events include Weekly Yuletide Friday Night Strolls starting Friday, December 5; Little Wonders on Inn Street featuring carolers and family fun on Sundays; Santa Workshops at Inn Street, Brown Square, Tannery and Firehouse Center for the Arts; Christmas Trees on Market Square decorated by RedNose; Holiday Musicals & Sing-Alongs at Firehouse Center for the Arts and on the Square; Green Ticket Shopping Spree with a chance to win $5,000 gift basket on Christmas Eve; Menorah and Latkes + Lights; and the Mr. + Mrs. Claus Cocktail Crawl on Sunday, December 14, 2025; among other activities:
