Community Support Coordinator Resigns Amid AYS Controversy
Sobhan Namvar resigned following racist remarks and threats to his family, the Eagle-Tribune reported.

ANDOVER, MA — The Andover Police Department's community support coordinator, Sobhan Namvar, resigned last month amid the controversy around Youth Services Director Bill Fahey's firing, the Eagle-Tribune reported.
Namvar said he had received racist remarks and threats to his family in recent months, the Eagle-Tribune reported. He resigned Aug. 5.
Namvar previously resigned from a post with the town's new diversity, equity and inclusion office a year prior, with "some in our community calling into question Sobhan's own ethnicity, religion and credibility," the town manager said.

Fahey was fired in May following an investigation into alleged inappropriate behavior, sparking an ongoing public outcry. In the report released by the town, Namvar was heavily cited; he received and reported the initial complaint against Fahey.
