DA’s Office Completes Search of Chism’s Cell Phone

The DA's office completed the search as part of the investigation into the murder of Colleen Ritzer of Andover.

The Essex County District Attorney’s office has completed a review of teenage murder suspect Philip D. Chism’s cell phone, but are not saying what they found at this moment.

The DA’s office informed the Essex Superior Court that they completed the search as part of the search warrant process. Essex County DA spokeswoman Carrie Kimball Monahan told The Boston Globe that “no conclusion, one way or the other, should be drawn” about this latest development.

Law enforcement reviewed the phone to see if it contained any evidence that he planned the murder of Danvers High School teacher Colleen Ritzer or whether he recorded the murder, reported The Boston Globe.
