Dog Falls Through Ice Into Frigid Pond In Andover, Fire Officials Say
Firefighters were called to rescue the dog Friday morning.
ANDOVER, MA — Firefighters were dispatched Friday morning for an ice rescue after a dog fell through the ice into a pond.
Firefighters arrived to find a dog in the water and immediately went into rescue mode.
"Ladder 1 donned their water rescue suits, deployed the Rapid Deployment Craft, and entered the frigid water. They were able to rescue the dog and bring it back to shore," according to Andover Fire Rescue.

Animal control then took the dog to a local animal hospital for evaluation.
"Our firefighters train on ice rescue scenarios every winter in order to be ready for situations like this," Andover Fire Rescue shared on Facebook. "Today’s successful rescue was a testament to their dedication, preparation, and commitment to keeping our community safe."
