Essex National Heritage Commission Announces Six New Commissioners

Andover, MA - The Essex National Heritage Commission (Essex Heritage), a non-profit that manages and provides numerous programs preserving and enhancing Essex County’s historic, natural and cultural resources, elected 6 new Commissioners at the Commission’s Spring Meeting on April 14 in Newburyport.

The Essex National Heritage Commission is supported by a 150-member Board of Commissioners who live and/or work within Essex County and represent the communities, businesses, organizations, educational institutions, and resources of the region. “Commissioners are ambassadors and advocates for this region,” said CEO Annie C. Harris, “Essex Heritage is pleased to welcome the slate of 6 new Commissioners, and we’re grateful for their volunteer support and leadership in promoting regional cooperation among the Area’s resources and organizations.”

The following six individuals were elected to serve as Commissioners for a three-year term:

· Judy Anderson, Architectural & Cultural Historian, Marblehead Architecture Heritage, Marblehead

· Reverend Jeffery Barz-Snell, First Church in Salem, Salem

· Sarah Boucher, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager, Willowdale Estate, Topsfield

· Bernadette Butterfield, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Groom Construction Co., Inc., Swampscott

· Jennifer Firth, President, Historic Salem, Inc., Salem

· Stephen Winslow, President, Bike to the Sea, Inc., Gloucester
