Families of Murdered Couple Thank Police, Ask for Privacy

The families of John and Jeri Magee thank all those who have given support in a time of need. They also ask for privacy and respect during a time of grieving.

While authorities continue to investigate the murder of two Andover residents, the families of the two victims thanked those are working dilgently to solve the "senseless" crime and asked for privacy during this difficult time.

John, 69, and Geraldine, 67, Magee were found shot in their Orchard Crossing mansion Wednesday morning by their daughter Holly Magee Senykoff. In addition, the couple's car was found burnt on Prince Street in the North End.

The families of both vicitms wanted thank those that have provided sympathy as well as those working to bring the killer or killers to justice.

"The family would like to expressits gratitude to the Andover and State Police Departments, the Essex County D.A.’s. Office and the state agencies who are working so diligently to solve this tragic andsenseless crime," the statement read. 

The families have also asked that the public, and the media in particular, respect their privacy during this time.

"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time forthe families and they ask that the public, and especially the media, respect their privacyand allow them time to grieve and deal with this tragedy."

Andover Police and the Essex County District Attorney's office are currently investigating what they are calling a double homicide and do not anticipate making any more statements about the investigation until an arrest is made. 

John Magee was a well known developer in the area has been involved with numerous housing developments over the past two-plus decades, including Orchard Crossing.

We will miss them dearly. The family would like to expressits gratitude to the Andover and State Police Departments, the Essex County D.A.’s. The families are not able to make any further statements at this time as they arecooperating with the investigation.
