Why Go: Drop your kids off at the YMCA for a fun-filled evening while you go out and spend your time as you please. Kids are treated with activities both on the mats and in the pool and light snacks are also served.

Where/When: Saturday, 6 a.m. to noon. Harold Parker State Forest, 305 Middleton Road, North Andover.
Why Go: Come check out the excitement from the 62nd annual Fishing Derby run by the Andover Sportsman Club.

Where/When: Fridays, 5-6 p.m. Whole Foods Market, 40 Railroad St., Andover.
Why Go: What better way to start off your weekend than by stopping by Whole Foods and sampling a variety of foods. All departments offer samples of their products on Foodie Fridays.

Where/When: Friday, 7 p.m., Andover High School, Andover
Why Go: Come cheer one the boys lacrosse team has they take on Tewksbury with a home field advantage. The boys team is still undefeated in this season, 4-0.

Where/When: Saturday, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Andover Historical Society, 97 Main St., Andover
Why Go: The Historical Society will be holding it’s regular tea on Saturday, where attendees can enjoy a warm beverage while learning about Andover’s history. This week, Andover historian Jim Batchelder will discuss how Main Street businesses and services have changed over the decades.
