Five Things to Do This Weekend

It’s Friday and we’ve got some ideas to help you plan a fun weekend but, at the same time, stay local. From kids parties, to local sports, to visits from your state senator, we are showcasing some enriching experiences this weekend for Andover Patch readers.

Where/When: Friday, April 15, 6:30 to 10 p.m., Andover SHED, Phillips Street, Andover.

Why Go: Drop your kids off at the SHED and let them enjoy a night with monster-themed party with facepainting dirtcup desserts and pizza!

Where/When: Saturday evening, conservation land to be announced, Andover.

Why Go: Camp on Saturday night with Andover conservation staff as they take you to camp on one of the town’s parcels of conservation land, typically not open to the public. The areas are undisturbed and pristine, according to camping coordinators.  

Pricing: $5 donation

Where/When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Memorial Hall Library, Andover.

Why Go: Do you have a strong opinion about how the state spends your money on health care costs. Join State Senator Barry Finegold has he talks about new health care legislation to minimize overall costs to the taxpayers and, more importantly, listens.

4. BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK FACE TEWKSBURY

Where/When: Saturday, 10 a.m., Andover High School, Andover

Why Go: Come cheer one the boys and girls track teams as they take on Tewksbury with a home field advantage.

Pricing: Ranges between $5 and $10

Why Go: Taste some of the featured wines from North Andover wine shop, the Wine ConneXtion.
