This Saturday is packed with local activities, from Clown Town to Boy Scout open houses to plant sales.

It’s Friday and we’ve got some ideas to help you plan a fun weekend but, at the same time, stay local. From Clown Town to guided hikes, we are showcasing some enriching experiences this weekend for Andover Patch readers.

2. HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION

Where/When: Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Elementary School

Why Go: Take all of those household chemicals collected dust in the garage and get rid of them at Andover’s Houshold Hazardous Waste Collection. No latex paint will be accepted.

Where/When: Saturday, May 21, Deer Jump Reservation, near 15 Launching Rd. – 10 a.m. Harold Parker Forest, Pavilion Near Berry Pond, Harold Parker Forest -

Why Go: May 21 is National Walk in the Woods Day and some local woodsmen are leading guided hikes through Andover trails to enjoy some of the local beauty.

Where/When: Saturday, 12 p.m., to 5 p.m. Andover High School, Andover

Why Go: Local Boy Scout Troop 76 will be holding an open house on Saturday to showcase some of their pioneering projects, fire safety and Dutch oven cooking.

Why Go: Head down to the Village Garden Club’s annual plant sale and grab deals on perennials, herbs and shrubs.
