Five Things to Do This Weekend

It’s Friday and we’ve got some ideas to help you plan a fun weekend but, at the same time, stay local. From yard sales, to local sports, to musicals, we are showcasing some enriching experiences this weekend for Andover Patch readers.

Where/When: Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. at the Memorial Hall Library

Why Go: Dads, take your kids out the library every Saturday morning for storytime and crafts. Also, get a few sweet treats for yourselves.

Where/When: Saturday, May 28, starting at 10 a.m. at Andover High School

Why Go: Go cheer on your home teams as both Andover boys and girls varsity track teams battle against other schools in a Division 1 meet. Andover hosts.

Pricing: Typically between $5 and $10

Where/When: Saturday, May 28, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Park, Chestnut Street and Bartlet Street.

Why Go: Those looking to get rid of old items just may be giving away treasures in this gigantic yard sale going on at the Park in Andover.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Friday, May 27, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Andover SHED, 65 Phillips Street, Andover

Why Go: Head over the Kid’s Club at SHED and get a buy one get one free deal on books. Stock up for summer reading!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Friday, May 27 – 8 p.m., Saturday, May 28 – 4 p.m. and  8 p.m., Sunday, May 29 – 2 p.m., Stoneham Theater, 395 Main St., Stoneham.

Why Go: Come watch local actors and singers perform the musical “42^nd Street” at the Stoneham Theater.  

Pricing: $44-$48; senior discounts apply; student tickets $20.
