Waste Audit: The Andover High School is holding a waste audit. Because so many students and parents are disturbed by the fact that there is no recycling program at Andover High School, they are dividing up all of the waste produced in one day at Andover High School into several different categories. Weather: You may already know this by now but we are looking at some rain today but, more importantly, temperatures in the mid 70s! Today should bring a high temperature of 76 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms before 11 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Predictions also say that the skies should be mostly cloudy when rain has stopped. Some wind gusts may be as high as 29 miles per hour.

Gas Prices: Again, gas is going up but it’s still cheaper around Andover. Here are some of the lowest unleaded gas prices in Andover according to motortrend.com: 205 North Main Street –$3.62/gallon. , Route 125 and Salem Street- $3.65/gallon; – $3.66/gallon.

Blast Off: It was today in 1970 that the Apollo 13 spacecraft blasted off for a mission to the moon. An explosion on the spacecraft nearly doomed the astronauts but they ended up returning safely. This fun fact was provided by On-This-Day.com.
