Last Day of Public Health Week: The Andover Public Health Department is celebrating National Public Health Week and today is the last day to see it. Weather: We are looking at another sunny one today and should expect a high temperature around 53 degrees. A north win should come through between 5 and 7 miles pr hour, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low temperature near 32 degrees. A south wind should come through between 4 and 7 miles per hour.

Gas Prices: Gas is going up but it’s not too bad compared to the surrounding area. Here are some of the lowest unleaded gas prices in Andover according to motortrend.com: ,  Main Street Mobil, 14 North Main Street - $3.57/gallon Route 125 and Salem Street- $3.55/gallon; 205 North Main Street –$3.59/gallon.

Ponce de Leon Couldn’t Hold on to It: While he did name the great state of Florida, Ponce De Leon probably should’ve been spending less time wearing funny hats and naming states and put more time into not getting humiliated by native American surprise attacks. It was this day in 1513 that renowned Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon discovered the area of Florida and claimed the land for Spain. However, three minutes later Native Americans gave Ponce de Leon an atomic wedgie and stole his frilly hat. Land recovered.
