Hearing Whistling?: Selectmen say that people near the train tracks may be hearing a train whistling in the middle of the night and that it is simply due to work being done on the MBTA tracks at the moment. Each time a worker enters the track, a whistle blows.

Gas Prices: Here are some of the lowest unleaded gas prices according to motortrend.com: the 65 Main Street – $3.39/gallon; Mobil, 14 North Main Street – $3.39/gallon; Sunoco, 220 North Main St., $3.41/gallon.

Weather: Today will be sunny with a high temperature of 62 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low temperature of 47 degrees.

Deadline for Flu Shot Sign-up: Today is the deadline for the flu shot submissions for Wood Hill Middle and Doherty Middle School Students. The deadline for high school students and West Middle students is Oct. 14.
