Giving Garden Gala Scheduled for September 12th

The Giving Garden is actively preparing for its annual fundraising gala on September 12th from 6-9 PM at Old Town Hall in Andover. The Giving Garden is a half-acre garden in North Andover, at Rolling Ridge, which donates 90% of its produce for hunger relief. With the help of over 500 volunteers the garden grows 10,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables each season that is distributed to Neighbors In Need, Lazarus House, and The Peoples Pantry.

The garden at its heart is about connections.

• Connecting communities to help residents of Lawrence, Andover, North Andover, and Methuen. Volunteers come from all these communities and beyond.
• Connecting with each other as we chat over the washing station.
• Connecting across all generations: including kids, teens, young adults, empty nesters, and retirees whose paths don’t often cross in our day to day lives.
• Reconnecting with our heritage and sharing stories of Grandpa’s famous tomato plants or picking green beans alongside Grandma.
• Connecting with ourselves and providing volunteers with an opportunity to detach from screens and take in the garden with all our senses and boost mental and physical health.
• Connecting with the rich soil of the earth.

The Giving Garden uses a no-till, regenerative method of gardening, which focuses on soil microbial health and supporting diverse ecosystems below and above ground to grow the healthiest, most nutritious food possible and helps to support and preserve our environment.

The gala is the main fundraiser for The Giving Garden and will feature a cocktail hour, silent and live auction, full buffet dinner featuring fresh season vegetables, tasty desserts, and program about The Giving Gala. The cash bar will feature beer from Treehouse Brewery and a signature cocktail/ mocktail.

There will also be Giving Garden merchandise for sale. All proceeds benefit our garden and help to provide fresh produce to those in need in our community.

The schedule for the Gala is as follows:

6:00-7:00pm Cocktail Hour and Silent Auction

7:00-8:00pm Buffet Dinner and Speakers

8:00-9:00pm Dessert, coffee, and Live Auction
