Judge Rules Lawsuit Involving Rape Case Has No Basis

A US District Court Judge ruled in favor of the town and teachers at Andover High School who were accused of not supporting a student who was raped on a class trip to Germany.

A former Andover High School student who said she was raped in 2008 when she was 16 on a school trip in Germany brought a lawsuit against the town of Andover, two teachers and a travel company in connection with the incident, according to an article in the Eagle Tribune

But a judge recently ruled in favor of the defendants, saying that after the discovery portion of the case, it was realized that there was not enough evidence to make a ruling in the case that claimed teachers violated the student's civil rights.

The student, who was allegedly raped by another student from Vermont while on the trip, specifically said that she was mistreated by the teacher/chaperons.
