Man Peddling Meat Reported on Center Street

The following is an excerpt from the Andover Police log:

Monday, No. 14

  • At 4:46 a.m. police assisted Tewksbury Police with a search for a suspect in the woods. Tewksbury Police believed he was toward the power lines on Frontage Road. Police did not find the suspect.
  • Police responded to a tractor trailor unit stuck in a ditch on Rt. 125 at 8:15 a.m. The driver was issued a citation for failure to use care.
  • At 9:32 a.m. a Cobblestone Lane resident told police a raccoon was stumbling across their lawn. There was no sign of the animal when police arrived.
  • Two high pressure washers were stolen from a building on Andover Street. Detectives investigated the theft at 10 a.m.
  • A dead skunk was removed from Chester Street at 10:11 a.m.
  • A Virginia Road resident complained about branches on their lawn at 10:21 a.m.
  • At 10:20 a.m. a person walking their dog on Bellevue said two other dogs came out and one bit her dog. The incident has been filed with the Animal Control officer.
  • Branches were reported down on Pleasant Street at 10:40 a.m.
  • At noon a Smithshire Estates resident reported a raccoon in her home. The raccoon then went into the garage, she told police. When the Animal Control officer arrived, the animal was long gone.
  • At 2:09 p.m. a Center Street resident complained about a person in a truck "peddling meat and steak products" door-to-door. The resident gave police the truck's license plate number. Police called the owner and left a message about Andover's door-to-door policy.
  • At 7:19 p.m. police arrested Steven M. Chomicz, 58, 14 Pheasant Run, and charged him with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  • Police arrested Gerald Gagnon, 42, 94 Tennis Plaza Road, Dracut, and charged him with driving after license suspension.
