Meet Andover's New Town Manager

The new town manager's salary will be $170,000, according to town officials. READ his contract here.

Andover’s new town manager will be sworn-in and officially welcomed from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at Town Hall, 20 Main St.

Selectmen unanimously chose Andrew P. Flanagan, 29, in August, out of two finalists. The other finalist opposing Flanagan was Kendra Amaral, the assistant town manager in Wilmington.He previously served as the assistant town manager in Arlington, a position he held since 2012.

Flanagan will officially begin his tenure on Tuesday, Oct. 13. His salary will be $170,000, according to town officials. Read the contract between Andover and the new manager.

He will replace Andover’s former Town Administrator, Reginald “Buzz” Stapczynski who served in the role for more than two decades before retiring on June 30.

Flanagan was previously a town manager finalist in 2014. in Danvers. Selectmen in Danvers voted unanimously to offer the town manager position to Steve Bartha, who is currently serving as town manager.

The oath of office will be administered to Flanagan at 5:30 during the welcoming reception. The event is open to all residents. Refreshments will be served.
