Nearly $50K Raised For Lawrence Stabbing Victim's Family, Funeral

LAWRENCE, MA — A GoFundMe fundraiser has collected almost $50,000 for the funeral expenses and family of the Lawrence man victim of Friday's fatal stabbing.

Eddie Novo, 37 of Lawrence, was identified as the stabbing victim. A New Hampshire man was arrested Friday in connection with Novo's death.

As of Thursday, $48,870 has been raised of the GoFundMe's $50,000 goal.

"Brother Eddie was a family man, a loving husband to his wife and three children," according to the GoFundMe description written by Abu Nasser Abdullah. "They were looking forward to doing something fun this weekend. There is a community food festival this weekend where he wanted take his whole family - he loved the food and also the companionship he had created over the years since he reverted to Islam."

The goal of the fundraiser was to raise funds for Novo's burial and for his family.

"There is an urgent need to raise funds for his burial," Abdullah wrote. "While money will not fill the indelible void that is created in his family due to his demise, we want to raise some funds for Brother Eddie's family so that they could survive the immediate financial hardship."
