Rosamond Purcell: Nature Stands Aside
September 1–December 31, 2022
The multifaceted work of Boston-based photographer and conceptual artist Rosamond Purcell speaks eloquently to her persistent interrogation of the ways in which humanity attempts to understand the world around it, encouraging viewers to see things, in the words of Minor White, "not only for what they are but for what else they are." This exhibition, Purcell’s first retrospective, reflects the breadth of the artist’s career from the late 1960s to the current day and includes over 150 of the artist’s photographs, assemblages, collages, and installations.

This presentation showcases four powerful photo stories from the 1960s by Benson: the building of the Berlin Wall, the James Meredith March, the Beatles' arrival to the USA, and the presidential campaign and assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.
