Police Break Up Underage Drinking Party
The police log for Saturday, April 9, and Sunday, April 10, contained four arrests and several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.
Saturday, April 9
- At 3:44 a.m. police arrested Francis M. Pena, of 10 Peremarquette St., on North Main Street. Pena was charged with a marked lanes violation, speeding in violation with a special regulation and operating under the influence of liquor.
- At 10:22 a.m. a slight gas odor was reported in the area of Torr Street. The gas company was notified.
- At 4:25 p.m. police arrested Jennifer H. Murphy, 24, of 75 Smith St., Lowell, on River Road. Murphy was charged with failure to wear a seat belt, speeding in violation of a special regulation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
- At 4:57 p.m. an injured owl was reported on Lowell Street. Before police arrived, a concerned party brought the animal to an animal shelter.
- At 6:14 p.m. a caller reported that he caught three teens breaking into cars where his sister lives. The man detained two of the teens and one walked off.
- At 7:14 p.m. police arrested Wilfredo Vila, 31 of 401 Haverhill St., Lawrence, on River Road. Vila was charged with operating to endanger and failure to stop for police.

- At 12:26 a.m. a caller reported an underage drinking party at the Residence Inn on Minuteman Road. Police came upon a group of kids and made sure they all had rides coming to take them home.
- At 10:17 a.m. a caller reported brown, rusty water on Linwood Street. The Water Department was notified.
- At 2:51 p.m. a caller reported two people trying windows and doors to the West Elementary School. An officer spoke with the subjects and they were sent on their way.
