Police Make Two Arrests This Weekend

The police logs for Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, contained two arrests and several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.

Saturday, June 6

  • At 12:12 a.m. police arrested Frank Howard MacMillan, 53, of 24 Pomeroy Road, on Salem Street. MacMillan was charged with a marked lanes violation, operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.
  • At 8:37 a.m. police found trash dumped on the road near the Lawerence line on Corbett Street.
  • At 10:09 a.m. a caller reported a hit and run in a parking lot of Elm Street. The individual whose car was hit thought that the car was struck by another driver, currently in the parking lot, who was denying the allegation. Police felt that the damage could have been done at any time.
  • At 3:52 p.m. a caller reported that two bikes fell off a moving car on Lowell Street. Officers came by and found a bike rack and returned it to the station.
  • At 11:59 p.m. a small gathering in the woods off River Street was reported. Police found evidence of a campfire, but nobody was currently in the woods.

  • At 2:43 a.m. police arrested Jared A. Joyce, 19, of 11 Old Homestead Road, Westford, on North Main Street. Joyce was charged with a red light violation and operating under the influence of liquor.
  • At 8:49 a.m. a caller reported an Irish setter that may have been hit by a car. The animal control officer reported that the dog is not injured, but animal control notified the animal hospital.
