Ribbon-Cutting To Celebrate Opening Of New Andover School

The event this week will commemorate the opening of West Elementary School.

ANDOVER, MA — The town is celebrating the opening of a new elementary school at an event this week.

The Town of Andover posted the following on Facebook:

Last month, students were welcomed to the brand new West Elementary School for the first time. To celebrate this long-awaited milestone, the Andover community is invited to join Andover Public Schools and the Town of Andover for the West Elementary and Shawsheen Preschool ribbon cutting celebration on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:30 PM.

This event will take place rain or shine. Informal tours will be provided following the event.

The West Elementary and Shawsheen Preschool project represents a $168 million investment. Construction on the school began in June 2022. The facility will eventually house both West Elementary School and Shawsheen Preschool under one roof across 191,000 square feet of state-of-the-art learning space. Shawsheen Preschool students will join West Elementary School at the new facility next school year.
