Roughly 4-6 Inches of Snow in Andover May Affect Friday Commute

The typical back and forth shifting between storm times and snowfall totals continues with area forecasts but it seems that the snow, at some point, is coming to Andover and the Northeast region.

According to the lastest forecasts from the National Weather Service in Taunton, a winter weather advisory is in effect beginning 7 a.m. Thursday but the bulk of snow is not expected to fall until Thursday night into Friday morning.

Andover is now looking at a total of 4-6 inches of snow accumulation from this storm and Friday commuters may be looking at a slow drive into work. 

Forecasts also call for 15 to 25 mile-per-hour winds, with 40 mile-per-hour wind gusts. 

Andover Reacting

The Town of Andover is prepping for the storm but police have not yet declared a snow emergency nor plans to enact the snow parking ban in Andover. However, town policy states that a snow emergency be declared with two or more inches of snowfall, or enough where plowing is needed. 

The Libraries of Northeast Massachusetts Breakfast scheduled Friday morning at Memorial Hall Library has already been canceled due to the impending storm. However, the Massachusetts Municipal Association breakfast will still take place at 9 a.m.
