State Rep. Jim Lyons Recognized for Voting Record

House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones, Jr. congratulated State Representative Jim Lyons(R-Andover) today for achieving an impressive voting record so far this legislative session.  

The Andover Republican participated in 104 consecutive roll call votes in the House this year, a 100 percent voting record, casting votes in favor of a number of reforms relative to reversions for local aid and court reform. Representative Lyons also cast numerous votes challenging the Democratic-led House on a number of issues, including a comprehensive Ethics Reform package, an income tax rollback, a permanent sales tax holiday and a gradual rollback of the state sales tax.

“Lyons is an incredibly committed member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, and an extremely valuable asset to the House Republican Caucus,” said Representative Jones.  “The people of the 18^th Essex District are fortunate to have Representative Lyons up here on Beacon Hill fighting for them day in and day out.”

"I am honored," says Jim Lyons, "to represent the working families of the 18th Essex District." 

"Since election day," Lyons adds, "I have worked with 21 other newly elected Republican legislators to create jobs and spur economic growth through tax relief and government reform. During this term, I voted to restore local aid funding, to roll back the sales and income tax hikes, and to restrain excessive state spending. 

"In the coming session," Lyons emphasizes, "I will continue working for the taxpaying families of the Merrimack Valley to achieve these important reforms."

Representative Lyons currently serves on the Committees on Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight, the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business, and the Joint Committee on Housing.
