Stretch Of Andover's Central Street Closing Friday Morning For Paving
Central Street between Main Street and School Street will close at 5 a.m., and the paving work is expected to last until noon.

ANDOVER, MA —The Andover Department of Public Works has announced that final paving operations will be conducted on a stretch of Central Street on Friday morning and motorists can expect closures, detours and delays.
The paving will begin at 5 a.m. and necessitate the closure of Central Street between Main Street (Route 28) and School Street. According to the Andover DPW, the roadwork should be completed by noon.
During the closure, motorists wishing to go northeast on Central Street will be forced to detour by going southeast on School Street, northeast on Locke Street, then northwest on Main Street (Route 28) back to Central Street.

Meanwhile, motorists hoping to travel southwest on Central Street will be forced to detour by going southeast on Main Street (Route 28), southwest on Locke Street, then northwest on School Street in order to reach Central.
According to Andover DPW, message boards have been placed on Main Street and Central Street to inform motorists of the paving work.

Andover DPW said drivers should expect delays in the area and businesses should expect delays in accessing the parking lots on Central Street.
Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work area, Andover DPW said.
