Student Found Prescription Pills at Andover High

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public.
Wednesday, Oct. 3
At 11:23 a.m. Andover Police assisted Wilmington with possible breaking and entering suspects. Police had stopped the vehicle until Wilmington Police arrvied.

At 2:30 p.m. a caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Stevens Street.
At 3:10 a.m. a caller reported a past hit and run on North Main Street.

At 3:26 p.m. an officer reports recovering a class E substance at Andover High School. Andover Police Lt. Harry Collins said that a student was found with a couple of prescription pills, for which the student was not prescribed, categorized as a class E substance. Collins said the student, who is a juvenile was charged with possession of a class E substance. Police would not provide any other information on the student. Police could not say what type of drug it was but state law says that a class E substance can be codeine, morphine or any other prescription narcotic.
At 7:44 p.m. a caller on Lowell Street reported that she bought a cat from someone in Ohio and sent the money. However, she claimed the same cat was sold to someone else.
Thursday, Oct. 4
At 2:52 a.m. an officer reports finding an open window on Cross Street. The closing mechanism seemed broken and requested that the school be notified.
At 5:52 a.m. a caller on Jenkins Road reported hearing the screeching of brakes and a crash but was not sure where the accident occurred. An officer located the two-car crash at 1 Jenkins Road and called for medical and tow crews. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. One driver was cited for a marked lanes violation and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
At 7:41 a.m. environmental police reported a two-car crash on Lowell Street. Injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
At 10:04 a.m. police arrested Kelvin S. Massey, Jr., 33, of 51 Mt. Vernon St., Apt. 11, Melrose, on Lowell Street. Massey was arrested on three outstanding warrants.
At 2:26 p.m. Merrimack College Police located some Andover street signs on campus and returned them to the Andover Highway Department.
At 2:38 p.m. a caller reported that her daughter's red Ford Explorer was broken into while it was parked near Andover High School on Red Spring Road.
At 4:04 p.m. a caller reported fallen utility pole wires that fell to the ground and were shooting sparks. National Grid and the Andover Tree Department were both notified and the power was shut off in that section.
