This Woman Loves the Cross-Country Road Trip

Where do you live? Rutgers Road, Andover, MA  

Family: married for 41 yrs, mom to three sons and grandmother to 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter  

Occupation: domestic goddess

Hobbies and Interests: photography, 6 and 12 string guitar, piano and the internet.  I've reconnected with friends and family on Facebook.  It's also been really fun setting up my photos from my trips on Smugmug.

Favorite Movie: My Best Friend's Wedding

Dream Vacation: I love road trips across the country, from here to CA to visit my oldest son.  I love them so much, I've done it ten times... I'd like more of those trips to places I haven't seen yet.

How long have you lived in Andover? since the day after Thanksgiving, 1978, 33 years. Why did you chose Andover? At the time, we wanted better schools than where we were living for our boys.  We also wanted a town with better resale value for our house, but we've just never moved!

What is your favorite place in Andover? I really just love the whole town... I love going up to Main Street, especially during the holidays and I like being part of the community.  If you'd asked me this about 20+ years ago, it would have been the Hockey Shop, I spent so much time there buying sports items for my boys.  

What is your favorite local shop? I don't know that I have one particular shop I like more than others.

How do you see Andover changing over the next 10-20 years?  I feel sad to see so much of the unused land being built on... I think that there will be very few areas with just trees and nature we can enjoy.  All of the additional housing spawns so much more traffic, too.

Where would someone see you around town? Barron's Country Store, Shawsheen Plaza and Rolling Green Mobil... I can get my favorite Dunkin Donuts, gas AND lottery all in one place!!
