Top Five Articles This Week

Included in the top five articles is one photo gallery from Independence Day.

Dam removals, a work-stop order and summer paving were among the top five articles in the week from July 4 to July 10. Check them out below:

  • – The Town of Andover is beginning the process to deconstruct three dams that sit along the section of the Shawsheen River that runs through Andover. Check out a feature video on the issue.
  • - On Tuesday night, the Conservation Commission both denied an application for Taylor Cove and issued a work-stop permit for Victoria Place. The rulings come after the developers for Taylor Cove opted to withdraw their application for the development on June 22.
  • – Although they were delayed by rain in the months of May and June, the town of Andover will begin it’s annual summer paving on July 14 with the paving of Maple Avenue. The town is behind on paving but hopes to get to as many streets as possible this summer. The most expansive job will be the reclaiming and leveling of Salem Street, which is costing approximately $182,000.
  • – The Town Yard Task Force has been continuing to mull the potential replacement of the Town Yard and is now considering five different locations for a new facility.
  • - Did you miss this year’s fireworks display? Not to worry, we've got them right here. Take a look at some shots taken at the West Middle School for the Independence Day celebrations.
