Two Car Break-ins Reported

Thursday, Aug. 25
At 12:36 a.m. a caller reported that someone knocked on her window and scared her on Stevens Street.

At 4:41 a.m. a caller reported a fallen tree limb that was blocking the roadway on South Main Street. The tree limb was removed from the roadway.
At 7:31 p.m. a caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident on Bartlet Street. No injuries were reported.

At 10:16 a.m. a caller reported that her car was broken into on Iroquois Avenue.
At 11:27 a.m. a hit and run was reported on Riverside Drive. Police eventually arrested Mathew Alias, 35, of 247 Chelsea St., Winthrop. Alias was charged with operating under the influence of drugs and leaving the scene of property damage.
At 12:06 p.m. a caller reported that someone stole items from her unlocked car overnight on Lovejoy Road.
