It seems not everyone is a fan of those festive scarecrows on light posts along Main Street. At just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Andover Police received a call reporting that two young males had lit a scarecrow on fire in front of Dunkin' Donuts. According to police reports, the caller extinguished the fire and saw the boys run toward Phillips Academy. Police did not find the boys, but they notified Phillips Academy security. No one was reported injured, except that unfortunate scarecrow.

The scarecrows are a festive part of downtown.
