23 Percent Of Arlington Residents Have Gotten At Least 1 Dose

ARLINGTON, MA — Twenty-three percent of Arlington's nearly 46,000 residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to new state data released Thursday.
The state's vaccine rollout prioritizing the most vulnerable residents is bearing fruit in Arlington, where those 75 or older have received the most vaccinations despite making up just 8 percent of the town's population. Seventy-one percent of those 75+ have received at least one dose, while 39 percent of them are fully vaccinated.
Fifty-eight percent of those 65-74 have received at least one dose, while 12 percent are fully vaccinated. That group makes up 11 percent of all the fully vaccinated people in Arlington, a number far outweighed by nearly every other age group.

Overall, 10,487 of 45,827 residents in Arlington have received at least one dose and 4,962 are fully vaccinated.

The Department of Public Health also released town-by-town coronavirus metrics, which showed drops in Arlington's percent positive rate and average daily incidence rate per 100,000 people.
There were 80 confirmed cases in the past two weeks, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 1,632.
