Andrea Nicolay Appointed Arlington Director of Libraries
Nicolay has been working within the Arlington Library system since 2012.

The following press release was sent to Patch from the Arlington Office of the Town Manager:
After performing an internal screening process with members of the Board of Library Trustees and Library staff, Interim Director Andrea Nicolay has been appointed Director of Libraries for Arlington effective Saturday, May 23.
Nicolay was hired as Library Assistant Director/Head of Adult Services in September 2012 and in 2013 continued as Assistant Director when that position was fully restored.
In November 2014 she became Interim Director when Director of Libraries Ryan Livergood left his position for a new job in Illinois, and she served as Interim Director a second time after Peter Struzziero’s resignation in mid-February 2015.
“Andrea has proven herself a steady and effective leader through an intense period of transition at the Library, and I was pleased she decided to come forward as a candidate,” says Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine.

Her accomplishments as Interim Director include facilitating the implementation of Summer Saturday hours, and overseeing the installation of two beehives on the 3rd floor balcony at the Robbins Library, an educational project funded by the Friends of the Robbins Library.
