Anna Litten Appointed As Arlington’s New Library Director
Litten has served as Arlington's Assistant Library Director since 2018.

ARLINGTON, MA — Anna Litten has been appointed as the Town of Arlington’s new Library Director, Town Manager Sandy Poolier announced Monday.
Litten has served as Arlington’s Assistant Library Director since 2018. In this role, she managed the growing service demands of the library, organized the annual community read programs, and oversaw the most recent website redevelopment.
Prior to being appointed as Assistant Library Director, Litten served as the Branch Manager for the Fox Library.

“Ms. Litten brings a wealth of experience and passion to Arlington’s libraries,” Pooler said in a statement. “In her years as the Assistant Library Director she spearheaded many successful programs and initiatives that have only enriched the Arlington community.”
The Library Director oversees the operations of the Robbins and Fox Branch libraries, including managing the budget and developing the library's collections and its many services. Litten began her new role on Sept. 19.

“I look forward to ensuring Arlington libraries continue the rich tradition of serving the needs of all in our community,” Litten said in a statement. "I am very lucky to be able to continue working with the dedicated library staff and the Board of Library Trustees, as well as our support groups, as we move into a new phase for the library.”
Prior to coming to Arlington, Litten served as Community Relations Coordinator for the Morse Institute Library in Natick and as the Training and Outreach Librarian for the Wellesley Free Library. She holds a B.A. in History from Grinnell College and a M.L.S. in Library Science from Simmons University Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Litten is also a member of the American Library Association and the Public Library Association.
