Arlington School Committee Finds Its Interim Member
The Committee selected one person from an applicant pool of 11.
ARLINGTON, MA — The School Committee appointed Alham Saddat to fill its vacant position on an interim basis during a recent meeting.
Saddat was chosen from a pool of 11 candidates, all of whom were competing to fill the seat vacated by Jane Morgan earlier this year when shewas chosen to serve on the Select Board. Saddat has been an Arlington resident since 2016, and has three children who are students in the district. Her local government experience includes being a Town Meeting member for the past six years as well as the current chair of the Arlington Libraries Foundation.
“This role has honed my skills in nonprofit leadership, alignment of internal priorities, and thoughtful partnership building,” Sadat said about working for the foundation.

Saddat works professionally as the Executive Director of the Innovation Trail of Greater Boston.
The interim School Committee member would serve until Arlington’s annual election next April. Sadat said she does not currently intend to run for reelection next year.
