Arlington Axing Tree Saplings, Brush Along Reservoir
The project is part of the plan to keep the dam from being damaged by excess weight.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town's Forestry Division will begin work at the Arlington Reservoir Feb. 1. For two weeks, crews will remove brush and tree saplings that are growing in the berm flanking both sides of the main spillway.
The project is part of the Dam/Berm Management Plan to help reduce the risk of roots compromising the structural integrity of the dam.
The work will take place Feb. 1-12 between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Pathways will be open to the public at all times.
