The Pierce playground project was a bit more delayed, as the equipment was caught in supply chain issues, the town said. It is expected to be delivered in late September and will be installed immediately.
"We are working with the School Department and our contractor on a contingency plan so we can open by the end of October, as was the estimated completion date,” town officials said in a statement. "This may include using engineered wood fiber (mulch) for the first season and then next summer complete the project with the poured in place rubber."
