Arlington Fire Department Welcomes Eight New Firefighters

Arlington graduates were part of two separate classes, 301 and 302, that graduated on May 20 and June 24, respectively.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Fire Department has welcomed eight new firefighters following their graduation from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy (MFA), where they completed the 50-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program.

"The eight recruits were put through a rigorous training program that provides them with the basic skills and tools they need to perform their jobs effectively and safely," Arlington Fire Chief Kevin Kelley said in a statement. “I’m pleased to welcome them to AFD and to the Arlington Community.”

MFA graduates from Class 301 include firefighters Andrew Cunningham, Conor Duggan, Paul Houser Jr., and Damien Murray. Graduates from Class 302 include Arlington firefighters Justin Brown, Daniel Jefferson, Stephen Leveroni, and Matthew Shea.

The MFA, which marked its 50th anniversary last year, provides recruit and in-service training at three separate campuses and has graduated nearly 14,000 firefighters in more than 430 classes. For more information, click here.
