Arlington PD's No Shave November To Support Retired Officer

Police are growing out their facial hair to raise money for MGH and support retired Lt. Dan Kelly, who is battling cancer.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Police Department is participating in No Shave November to raise money for cancer research and support one of its own in his fight against cancer.

Members of the department may forgo facial hair restrictions this month and donate or raise $100 to support cancer research at Massachusetts General Hospital, where retired police Lt. Dan Kelly is receiving treatment following a recent cancer diagnosis.

"The fight against cancer is one that is very personal for all of us here at the department," Chief Julie Flaherty said. "We are proud to be supporting No Shave November and one of our retired officers as he battles this terrible disease. I invite residents who are able to do so to join us in supporting Lt. Kelly and Massachusetts General Hospital."
