Arlington Police Officer To Ride In Pan Mass Challenge For First Time
Salena Zona will be joining the team Arlington Angels to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington police officer Salena Zona will be participating in the Pan Mass Challenge for the first time this year.
Zona, who has been a patrol officer in Arlington since 2016, will be joining the team Arlington Angels, which rides in memory of Pat Doherty, Catherine Malatesta and Matt Griffin - three young Arlington residents who lost their battle with cancer - and Mia Lee, who is currently undergoing treatment at Dana Farber for leukemia.
"I am so excited to be apart of the team this year, riding along with two of my co-workers from the Arlington Police Department and multiple Arlington residents!” Zona said on her fundraising page. "Having many friends and family members who are affected by this disease I am motivated to take part in this challenge as a way to honor those who have passed and support those who have beat this disease or continue to fight this disease.”
