- Driver Runs a Red Light with an Expired License, 12:24 p.m., stopped between Irving Street and Pleasant Street
An officer says a driver turned right from Massachusetts Avenue onto Pleasant Street, despite the signs and signals declaring that turning right at a red light was a no-no in this area.
The driver allegedly also drove through an activated crosswalk that two other individuals happened to be walking across at the time.

Upon being pulled over, the driver admitted she noticed the red light too late, as she was momentarily distracted by a GPS at the time. She also claimed the individuals on the crosswalk were not cross enough to her vehicle to be of concern.
The driver proceeded to hand the police officer her license and registration, both of which were expired. So on top of receiving citations for the red light and crosswalk violations, her car got towed. Sounds like an ordeal.
- Attempted/Failed Burglary, 7:27 p.m., Venner Road
A woman who lives with a vacationing couple left the residence at approximately 4 p.m., and returned around 7 p.m. to find a basement window had been shattered, as had a glass sliding door.
However, nothing in the home was missing, and the glass door was too jammed to open more than a few inches, regardless of the broken glass. She decided to stay at her home that evening, and a patrol car was sent around later to make sure everything remained cool.
