'Electrify Arlington' Campaign Will Support Town's Climate Change Goals
Arlington's 2021 Net Zero Action Plan, endorsed by the Select Board, commits the Town to achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2050.
ARLINGTON, MA — The Town of Arlington is launching Electrify Arlington, a community-wide campaign to power buildings and transportation with clean electricity.
The campaign will begin this summer with the launch of the Electrify Arlington website, which will serve as a “one-stop shop” for residents and business owners to find information about rebates and incentives, as well as technical assistance, all with the goal of encouraging the installation of clean energy technologies.
The town has also partnered with several organizations that will work directly with residents and business owners to help them meet their individual energy efficiency goals.

The nonprofit All In Energy will help participants schedule no-cost Home Energy Assessments with Mass Save, the State’s utility-administered energy efficiency program. Abode Energy Management will begin to train resident volunteer Electrify Arlington coaches who will guide participants through the process of installing efficient technologies in their homes. Electrify Arlington coaches will become members of the HeatSmart Alliance, a regional volunteer group that provides free coaching services to promote the adoption of low-emissions heating and cooling technologies.
Arlington’s 2021 Net Zero Action Plan, endorsed by the Select Board, commits the Town to achieving net zero GHG emissions by 2050. Electrify Arlington is one of the Net Zero Action Plan’s high priority actions in pursuit of this target. Initial phases of the multi-year campaign will focus on buildings, which are responsible for 62 percent of Arlington’s greenhouse gas emissions.

“The incentives for clean heating and cooling technologies are substantial,” Arlington Town Manager Sandy Pooler said in a statement. “Electrify Arlington will make it easier for residents and businesses to access the best resources and rebates available in pursuit of our ambitious net zero goals.”
Over the summer, residents who own or rent their homes and business owners are encouraged to take the first step and schedule a no-cost, Mass Save Energy Assessment by calling All In Energy at 781-243-5650. Interested individuals can also apply to become an Electrify Arlington coach.
