Flash Flood Warning in Effect Until 8 p.m. Tuesday night
More than two more inches of rain are expected as showers and heavy rain continue to pound the region
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning most of Massachusetts and Rhode Island through Tuesday night.
The showers and heavy rainfall the region has had since Sunday morning are expected to continue through late Tuesday with rainfall totals Monday into Tuesday of up to 2.50 inches.

The National Weather Service says rapid and significant flooding of urban areas is possible as this system continues to move through. Small streams may rise out of their banks and flood low lying areas.
The warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

A flash flood warning is issued for rapid and potentially life threatening flooding. Residents should stay alert for flash flood warnings, which are issued when flooding is imminent.
Should flooding occur, officials remind drivers to not drive through flooded roads, even if the water appears to be shallow. Drivers should find alternate routes. Cars can easily be stranded. Additionally, residents are advised to move to higher ground if you live or work in a flood prone area.
