Great Chance to Take a Tour of the Newly Renovated Central Street Fire Station
The Central Fire Station is included on the Historic Register.

Town Manager: Adam Chapdelaine and Fire Chief Jefferson are inviting residents to take a tour of the newly renovated Central Fire Station from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday Oct. 3, located at 411 Massachusetts Ave.
The Central Fire Station was completed in July after four years of planning and construction, restoration and renovations.
Included in the renovations are all-glass garage doors replacing conventional solid steel doors and restoration of the exterior facades to their original appearance.

Additionally, the interior was redesigned to return the Fire Administration offices to the Central Fire Station, which were previously located in the Public Safety Center. According to the Town of Arlington, some architectural items were preserved from the original Central Fire Station, including decorative corbels and brickwork in the apparatus bay and a decoratively painted mantel piece on the second floor.
The architectural firm, Donham & Sweeney, was chosen to perform the renovations on Central Fire Station and Highland Station, which was completed in 2011. Both of the fire stations are included on the Historic Register.
