Juvenile Punches and Kicks Legal Steward In Front of Arlington Cop
A 17-year-old has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Arlington Police have charged a 17-year-old with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on an officer, following an incident that occurred on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Thorndike Street on Wednesday, April 22.
The dangerous weapons involved were a foot, and the Nike sneaker containing it.
Around 12:25 p.m., an officer working traffic detail observed two men telling the suspect, who appeared to be attempting to walk into traffic, to get in a BMW parked nearby.

Upon investigation, police determined that the two men were employees of an out-of-town group home from which the suspect was attempting to run away.
As the suspect’s stewards were explaining their situation to police, the suspect began repeatedly punching one of them, then kicked him in the shins.

Subsequently, the suspect was placed in handcuffs and charged with assault and battery. The suspect proceeded to stomp on the arresting officer’s foot, upping the charges to assault on a police officer.
A squad car arrived on the scene, and the suspect was double handcuffed and driven to the station without incident. At the station, the suspect complained of wrist pain due to the handcuffing.
