Longtime Arlington Teacher Marie 'Mrs. Rad' Raduazzo Passes Away

Raduazzo taught English in the Arlington Public Schools for nearly 40 years.

ARLINGTON, MA — Longtime Arlington schoolteacher Marie Raduazzo, known affectionately as "Mrs. Rad," has passed away. Raduazzo taught English in the Arlington Public Schools for 38 years before taking a job at Matignon High School in Cambridge.

Matignon announced Raduazzo's passing in a Facebook post Monday. The school said the beloved teacher "educated, inspired, and touched the hearts of everyone she encountered."

A memorial service to celebrate Raduazzo's life will be held over Zoom in the near future. If you would like to receive a Zoom invitation to this service, please email your request to Mr. Richard Eastwick at richardeastwick@yahoo.com.

The family has asked that when you email requesting the Zoom link, to share one or two of your favorite stories about Mrs. Rad and her influence on you or others.

In lieu of flowers, Raduazzo's family has requested that donations be made in her name to: Facing History and Ourselves, 16 Hurd Road, Brookline, MA 02445. The educational organization sparked Raduazzo's passionate study of the Holocaust and other genocides and how to prevent genocides in the future.
