May Arizona Terrace Fire Victim Finally Laid to Rest in UK

The May 5 fire claimed the life of Wai Cheong. Sixty units were rendered inhabitable; 36 destroyed and 24 were damaged.

Arlington Police shared some news last night, and offered condolences to all those affected by the tragedy.

Arlington Police shared this post on Wednesday night, “After a long search to find a suitable plot, Wai Cheong, victim of the May 5th Arizona Terrace fire, was finally laid to rest in August, in the cemetery where his father is buried in Leeds, UK. His family shared this photo with us and we would like to take a moment to remember Wai, and our thoughts continue to go out to all of those who were and still are affected by this tragedy.”

The fire, which began on May 5 around 4 a.m., claimed the life of Mr. Cheong. Sixty units were rendered inhabitable; 36 destroyed and 24 damaged, requiring repairs.

The family of Wai Cheong Lee, age 47, who died in the fire, arrived in Arlington from overseas in May.
