New Parking Meters Installed in Arlington Center

Parking meters in Arlington Center go in effect today

Parking meters have been installed in Arlington Center. The new parking kiosks, located in the Russell Common Lot and the Railroad Lot, will be in effect starting today.

Space will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It will cost $0.50 an hour with no time limit. If you want to park your car overnight, you need to purchase a special permit. You can do that at the Treasurer’s Office.

Parking is free on Sundays.

The pay stations will accept quarters, Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit and debit cards. There will be a $1 minimum charge with the use of any credit or debit card.

The new meters are part of a revamp of parking options in Arlington Center, which have been guided by the town’s Parking Implementation and Governance Committee.

Town officials say they hope the meters will create an incentive for people to use town-owned lots in the area.
