Procession Details For Fallen Arlington Soldier Marwan S. Ghabour
Ghabour grew up in Arlington and graduated from AHS in 2010. He was killed in a helicopter crash Nov. 12.

ARLINGTON, MA — A procession for a fallen soldier from Arlington will pass through town Thursday morning. Chief Warrant Officer 2 Marwan S. Ghabour was one of five U.S. Army soldiers who died in a helicopter crash in Egypt Nov. 12.
Ghabour grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 2010. He was a member of the soccer and wrestling teams and worked as a high school intern for ACMi, Arlington's local access television station.
A private family service will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at The Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center in West Roxbury, with interment to follow at Cedar Knoll Cemetery. Prior to the service, Ghabour's family will be escorted from Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford down the length of Mass. Ave. for a procession through town, starting at the Lexington line.

The procession is expected to reach Arlington at 8:30 a.m. Should there be a significant time change, updates will be posted on the town's social media platforms.
Residents are invited to pay tribute to Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ghabour and his family. Attendees must wear a face covering and practice social distancing, in accordance with state public health orders.

"Our community has lost a hero, and tragically, we now have a Gold Star family," Director of Veterans' Services Jeffrey Chunglo said in a release. "Arlington stands by its commitment to provide support for the family."
